Happy Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2011 the Surfside Beach Turkey Trot takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. This is the Grand Strand’s best and largest Turkey Trot and it will start and finish at the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach, SC. Enjoy a great view of the Atlantic Ocean while you work up an appetite for dinner. The event will feature a 10K, 5K, 1 mile plus a free Kid’s Tot Trot!

The not to be missed, the South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival will be held Thursday, November 24, 2011 starting at 12:00 p.m. and runs through Saturday, November 26, 2011. The South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival takes place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center from Noon until 10:00 p.m. Bluegrass Music Festival in an enjoyable family-friendly atmosphere.

Another event in the area is the start of the Brookgreen Gardens Holiday Exhibits. These events are open beginning Friday, November 25, 2011 and are ongoing until January 1, 2012. Signs of the Season in Flora and Fauna - In the Noble Gallery, evergreen trees, wreaths, and plaques decorated with assorted natural materials, along with vintage carousel animal figures add beauty to this exhibit. Signs of the Season in Art and History - In the Jennewein Gallery, Christmas trees, art, and furnishings reflecting the holiday celebrations at Brookgreen in the late 19th and early 20th centuries are on display. These exhibits are free with garden admission.
