With October here our thoughts turn to Oktoberfest celebrations and cooler weather. Here’s one to write on your calendar so you’re sure not to miss it! Close to the North Myrtle Beach hotels you’ll be staying in, there’s no reason not to attend.

This year’s Oktoberfest 2011 takes place on Saturday, October 8 from Noon until 11 p.m. in Downtown Myrtle Beach, SC. This year’s show is features Galactic and G. Love & Special Sauce. This year’s highlights are authentic German food, beer and wine; an alcohol-free Kid’s Zone with inflatables and street performers; a Bratwurst eating contest; and an amazing fireworks display.

Ocean Boulevard will be closed to motor vehicles from 8th Avenue N. to Mr. Joe White Ave. (Pyler Park). A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Horry County Special Olympics.
