Aberdeen Country Club

This course was the only 1998 Carolina’s recipient of Golf Digest’s prestigious medallions for both ‘value’ and ‘service’

Course Description

Royal Aberdeen is Scotland's sixth oldest golf course & Aberdeen Country Club is one of the newest clubs in the Myrtle Beach area. The logo of Aberdeen Country Club is reflective of the “Scottish” feel you'll experience at Aberdeen. It is a combination of the shield from the Scottish flag, the crown of Scotland, and the mythical Unicorn that in Scottish folklore was wild and untamable, but at times was the bringer of good luck! This is one of Tom Jackson's premiere 27 hole facilities in the Carolinas. Each nine presents a different look and different challenges, with fertile fairways and gorgeous new Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens. Aberdeen is tucked along a protected riverfront preserve, teaming with wildlife. And with 27 holes available, the opportunity for an extra nine or eighteen is great!

Aberdeen will take you into the game of golf in the true “Scottish” tradition. All three nines are reminiscent of those early days of golf with the “Meadows”, “Highlands” & “Woodlands” nines. Tucked among towering hardwoods and the beautiful Waccamaw River, this course features extensive mounding, wide landing areas, & bent grass greens. Book this one early as it is one of the more popular courses in the area. You are sure to appreciate the outstanding customer service as well as the great test of golf this track provides.

Barefoot Resort & Golf Course – Fazio Course

Tom Fazio, voted “Golf Course Architect of the Year” five years in a row, brings his design expertise to a rolling parcel of land at the heart of Barefoot Resort.

Course Description

The Fazio Course at Barefoot Resort is routed through a spectacular piece of property in the heart of Barefoot Resort. Like many European courses, the course does not return to the clubhouse after nine holes. It is not a British linksland course, but rather a classic Lowcountry course, filled with live oaks, pines, sand, natural areas and native grasses. Located between the Dye Course and the Love Course, the Fazio course has been strategically designed, incorporating extensive tree cover and many lakes into the landscaping.

Waste areas and formal bunkers have been handcrafted and placed for visual and strategic effect, while natural elevation changes add a sense of drama and excitement the to golfing round. Water features can be seen on 15 holes, yet many lakes are in out-of-play areas to ensure playability. Tee and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif – sport Bermuda grass. The greens surfaces are an A-1 Bentgrass and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass. The Fazio Course is a Par 71, approximately 6,834 yards long. The course will have four sets of tees to give players of all skill levels the opportunity to play a course of championship caliber and still have the right balance of fun and challenge.

Barefoot Resort & Golf Course – Norman Course

The Norman Course was ranked in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play-2004” and was #28 in the “Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach” by Golf Digest.

Course Description

Seven holes along the Intracoastal Waterway highlight Greg Norman's newest design at Barefoot Resort. Framed by the site's original vegetation, each hole enhances the beauty of its natural vistas. Combined with open green complexes and fairways running up to the sand, the Norman course presents a stunning challenge for any golfer. The stunning waste areas and the site's natural vegetation were used to frame each hole. The course resembles one found in the deserts of the Southwest, without the desert. For example, one hole has fairways that flow into the native areas surrounding the course while another hole features fairway and a partial rough transitioning into the native areas. A third distinction is a formal rough that encompasses the entire golf hole.

There are no angular or artificial lines in the shape of the course. Bunkers have sloping white faces (similar to a MacKenzie style golf course) with intermittent sod wall bunkering at strategic locations throughout the course. The Norman Course is a Par 72, approximately 7,200 yards long and was designed with Norman's philosophy to bring into play the “bump and run” shots around the greens. This will give the player the option to play a number of different shots. The greens are gently undulating and consist of an average green area of 6,300 square feet. Tees and Fairway consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas are Tifdwarf grass and greens surfaces consist of A-1 bentgrass. The rough areas are Zoysia grass allowing for a dramatic color and texture contrast between the areas that are maintained as fairways versus roughs.

Caledonia Golf and Fish Club

Golf Digest named Caledonia one of “America’s Top 100 Greatest Public Courses,” Caledonia is also in the top ten of the “Top 50 Courses in Myrtle Beach” and a 4.5 STARS rating in the “Places to Play” Guide.

Course Description

Since opening in January 1994, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the premier courses in America. Famous for its natural beauty and challenging layout, Caledonia is also rich in history and tradition. The original plantation was named by its founder, Dr. Robert Nesbit, a Scottish immigrant who named it Caledonia, the ancient Roman name for Scotland. Dr. Nesbit acquired the plantation in the 1700's by marrying Elizabeth Pawley whose family originally founded Pawleys Island and after whom Pawleys Island is named.

Historic land records from Georgetown County indicate that Caledonia was, at one time, one of the largest plantations in South Carolina with land stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the rice fields on the western edge of the Waccamaw River. Perhaps the most striking aesthetic feature of the plantation is the impressive avenue of live oaks leading to the clubhouse steps. These century-old trees, laden with Spanish moss, mark the site of the old King's Highway as it made its way along the coast in the 1700's.

Crow Creek

This course is ranked among the “Top 50 Golf Courses in North Carolina” by North Carolina Magazine.

Course Description

Crow Creek Golf Club is located in Calabash, NC on Highway 17, 2 miles north of the NC / SC state line and just minutes from Myrtle Beach, SC. Since Opening in February 2000, Crow Creek Golf Club has become one of the most popular destinations for golfers visiting the Myrtle Beach area. Created by architect Rick Robbins, a former Jack Nicklaus design associate, Crow Creek Golf Club is a scenic layout set on developer Jerry McLamb's 500-acre family homestead. Golfers that have experienced Crow Creek have made it a “must play” on their return visits to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Comments are received on a daily basis praising the imaginative layout, undulating L-93 bent grass greens, manicured Tifsport bermuda fairways and genuine hospitality of the entire staff. “We will definitely tell our friends to play Crow Creek the next time they are in Brunswick County or Myrtle Beach”, is a comment heard quite regularly.

Visiting golfers can also take advantage of the beautiful beaches of the surrounding Brunswick Islands, as well as the convenience of being within a short drive to both Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. There is an inviting intimacy to the golf community of Crow Creek that seems to call for a leisurely stroll. Wander down one of its gently winding streets, for example, and you'll notice the charming ornamented street lamps. The homes themselves seem to welcome passersby; they express the hospitality of the low country lifestyle. Perhaps the best way to sum up the personality of the homes is this: If they were people, they'd probably wave at you as you pass by. Continue down the road and it won't be long before Crow Creek's gracious, expansive clubhouse comes into view. Here, you can enjoy a game of tennis on one of the private courts. Or take a few laps in the pool. Sometimes you'll be in the mood for a walk down one of Crow Creek's nature trails. Or, at sunset, you can watch the wood ducks fly in (like clockwork!) and settle down for their evening roost on the banks of the Caw Caw River

Farmstead Golf Links

Farmstead is nestled in a natural setting and is removed from developed areas; this course allows golfers to play in almost perfect privacy.

Course Description

Farmstead Golf Links is truly a cut above the typical Grand Strand course. Considering the extraordinary golf experience it offers to players of all levels, this is arguably the best deal in town. Nestled in a natural setting while comfortably removed from developed areas, the course affords golfers the luxury of playing in almost perfect privacy. Set on a level stretch of land that was once a tobacco farm, its windswept 480 acres have been fashioned into a spectacular set of challenges by designer Willard Byrd.

Wide, links-style fairways gently follow the lay of the land to create a collection of shot-making opportunities that reward superior play from golfers of many styles. At this captivating course, the winds are always in play, giving it yet another dimension. Whether the flags are noisily flapping or eerily still, hitting it straight is the key to scoring well at Farmstead. It may be wide-open with generous landing areas, but scoot one off a fairway and you are stuck in the love grass, where your next move is to drop a provisional.

Unlike most contemporary course designers, Willard Byrd is not a big advocate of the reachable par four. Players who opt for the white tees will find the shortest two-shotter to be the 313-yard 5th, and all but one of the remaining eight par fours play shorter than 350 yards. According to the locals, however, it’s Farmstead's exceptional par threes that you’ll remember.

Litchfield Country Club

The Litchfield course was given 4 stars by Golf Digest in their Best Places to Play, and Litchfield is part of the Waccamaw Golf Trail.

Course Description

Litchfield Country Club was among the initial eight courses built on the Grand Strand. And it was the first course in the Pawleys Island/Litchfield area. While it's popular for courses today to tweak their design, Litchfield Country Club hasn't taken that path. Open for play in 1966, the course has maintained its original features, including player friendly greenside pathways for bump and run approach shots.

Ranked one of the “world's 50 best” by Conde Nast Traveler, the gracious charms of this exclusive country club “signature course” are enjoyed by a limited number of visiting golfers. The mature tree-lined fairways wind amid giant oaks and shimmering lakes of a former Carolina rice plantation, creating an extraordinarily challenging “country club” experience. This traditionally styled layout is the flagship of the historic plantation courses. You'll find Litchfield Country Club to be a preferred destination because of its country club atmosphere.

Long Bay Club

Long Bay Club was awarded 4.5 STARS by Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” in 2006.

Course Description

If a player can tame The Long Bay Club, they may feel confident enough to take on the Golden Bear. The Jack Nicklaus-designed course is considered one of the most difficult on the Grand Strand. Rightfully so. Long Bay's formidable features include: A demanding 137 slope from the championship tees to a difficult 127 for the ladies. Countless large man-made mounds. They're particularly lethal near the green, creating a new approach (so to speak) to your wedge game. Handsome but deadly par-3s, especially No. 13, a mid-iron test to an island green. Many bottomless bunkers surrounding Long Bay's small Bermuda landing surfaces. And a striking horseshoe waste bunker on the courses signature hole, the 353-yard (championship tees) No. 10 has become one of the most recognized in golf.

Long Bay's par-3s are attractive, but they can be cruel to the scorecard. The best of the four is No. 13 and it's wide island green. Not a long test, this par-3 teases players with various pin placements. The hole plays a club less if the pin is on the left. Ten yards too much and players likely will visit the drop area. Golfers likely will remember Nos. 4 and 18 (par-4s) and Nos. 11 and 15 (par 5s). No. 4 is rated the courses most difficult hole. At 472 yards from the back tees, it features a narrow fairway guarded by waste areas on both sides. The homeward bound hole demands a left-to-right tee shot to trim off the distance to the green. Both par-5s on the back nine-547 yards and 492 yards- provide different looks. No.11 is a dogleg left design to a small green protected by a horseshoe bunker. No. 15 veers to the right. Players must carry a meandering creek on their second shot and avoid a water hazard that runs by the right side of the green. “Most of the time when players walk off the course,” Roger Batton said, “they're not frustrated but they're coming back because of the challenge of it.”

Man O’ War Golf

The Man O’War course was “Rated 4 STARS by Golf Digest.”

Course Description

Golfers everywhere are lining up to go to “WAR” in Myrtle Beach – Man O' War!!! Rising up from the depths of a 100 acre lake, Man O' War is brimming with an arsenal of weapons. World renowned architect Dan Maples has launched a new campaign in the battle for par with a course that includes back-to-back island greens, and an awesome island ninth — unlike any you've likely ever played before.

Water is the inescapable element in this campaign — your constant companion as you travel from the first tee to the final battle at the 18th green. Never underestimate the lake at Man O' War. It can change from all to enemy as its sparkling beauty also becomes a punishing hazard. However, Man O' War is a uniquely fair playing field. Dan Maple's own clever strategy of interweaving holes that call for different skills has created a course that rewards golfers of all proficiencies.

Oyster Bay

Oyster Bay was rated by Golf Digest 4.5 STARS in “Places to Play” and ranked it the “Best New Resort Course of the Year.”

Course Description

Voted the 1983 Golf Digest “Resort Course of the Year,” and ranked by the same publication among the top 50 public courses in the country in 1990, Oyster Bay Golf Links is a rare, harmonious blend of the penal, heroic and strategic philosophies of golf course architecture. Architect Dan Maples and developer Larry Young created a course where variety and innovation are the name of the game.

Consider severe marsh-oriented holes, two island green par threes, strategic (and stunningly beautiful) fresh water lakes, long holes, short holes…the consummate combination of shot making requirements. The par-70 course plays to just under 6,700 yards, but cavernous bunkers, wickedly undulating greens and lengthy par 4's make Oyster Bay a test of one's mettle.

Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Pawleys Plantation is one of only 32 courses from the Myrtle Beach area to be named one of the “100 Must Play courses of The Carolinas- 2006” by GolfStyles Carolina and Fodor’s Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play 4 STARS- 2006.”

Course Description

It was the exquisite setting that ultimately drew Jack Nicklaus to Pawleys Plantation. “I have a particular fondness for the Lowcountry,” says Nicklaus. “We used what's there, without forcing or changing what Mother Nature provided.” With subtle greens enveloped by sand bunkers, challenging fairways dotted with water and unique obstacles evident on every hole, Pawleys Plantation is a player's course that demands strategy, ingenuity and above all, concentration. “You'll have to think your way around this course,” Nicklaus advises. But he's quick to add,”as for beauty, on a scale from one to ten, it's pretty close to a ten.”

A few of the course highlights include: the par 3, third hole requiring a forced carry over water from tee to green; the par 5, fourteenth hole where you must negotiate the marsh off the tee shot to a split fairway just before the green; or the tremendous par 4, eighteenth hole that permits only a well-placed drive down a narrow fairway bordered by marsh, sprawling oaks and pines. Pawleys Plantation is one of those rare courses you can play time and time again and never hit the same shot twice. Its subtlety is matched only by its beauty. And best of all as a guest of Pawleys Plantation, you will enjoy special play privileges with guaranteed tee times.

Course Description

Many of the world's top courses boast one common element – design by Dye. The Dye Family has probably had a greater impact on golf course design than anyone since the original sheep at St. Andrews that created bunks by burrowing into the dunes. Well known golf courses with the Dye signature include: Harbour Town, Oak Tree, PGA West, TPC Sawgrass, plus Crooked Stick (site of the 1991 PGA Championship) and Kiawah Island's Ocean Course (site of the 1991 Ryder Cup Matches). Pete and P.B. Dye are proud to present Prestwick Country Club. This masterpiece has already been recognized as one of the area's finest golf courses.

Features include dogwood lined fairways, 35-foot berms, dazzling wildflowers, timber-rimmed bunkers and lakes and streams. This magnificent layout offers six sets of tees for any caliber of golfer, and plays to a length of 7,058 yards from the medal markers. The Prestwick Club House overlooks the 9th and 18th holes and Prestwick Lake. The restaurant is the perfect setting for business and casual lunches, banquets, weddings and other special events. The pro shop is fully stocked and members have access to lovely private lounges and locker rooms.

Course Description

Situated upon one of the most breathtaking pieces of property that you'll ever see is one of the most spectacular courses you'll ever play, designed by one of the most humble men you'll ever meet. Six of the holes at Rivers Edge Golf Club sit high upon bluffs that overlook two miles of grassy marshlands bisected by the bends and turns of the Shallotte River. The interior holes at Rivers Edge are equally stunning with gentle elevation changes, freshwater lakes and bent grass greens. GOLF MAGAZINE ranked it among “Top New Courses You Can Play” in 2000. Sea Trail – Dan Maples Course

The Dan Maples Course was chosen Golfweek’s Best Resort Course of Distinction- 2004/2005.

Course Description

Great golf begins at Sea Trail! Whether you come to play for a day, a week or a month, the beautiful and varied terrain of our three challenging courses gives golfers enjoyable play at every stage of the game. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with full-service pro shops, snack bars, lounges and restaurants. Additional golf amenities include putting greens and a lighted driving range. Need lessons? We'll be glad to oblige. Want to hold a golf tournament? Just check out our Golf Groups and Tournaments section. Whatever your golfing needs, Sea Trail can help.

Golf Digest declared the Dan Maples Signature Course as one of the “Best New Resort Courses” in the nation in 1986. Twisted ancient oaks, tall Carolina pines and tifdwarf greens define each hole on the beautiful par-72 course, still regarded as one of Maples' finest. Five holes wind along the scenic Calabash Creek, home to nesting pairs of osprey. A medium-length, accuracy-demanding course, the Maples is unique in its use of waste bunkers; with the waste bunker on #15 extending the full length of the fairway, making it a challenge for even the experienced golfer. Adding to the challenge is the use of attributes of the land and water in this natural setting, causing the golfer to ponder both the layout and the beauty of the course. But be advised . . . the Maples course is no “walk in the park”!

Sea Trail – Rees Jones Course

The Rees Jones Course was the U.S. open Qualifier Course in 2006 and awarded the Best Course You Can Play – 2005 by Golfweek.

The Rees Jones Course, which opened in the spring of 1990, is a perennial favorite of both visitors and locals. Designer-approved renovations to the course in 1999 brought a more naturalized look with native grasses and wildflower plantings. A straightforward course with typical Jones bounding along the fairways and around elevated greens, the course is noted for its wide fairways, large mounds, pot and large expanse bunkers that provide an extraordinary golf experience. Adding to the challenge is the use of water, which comes into play on 11 holes of this par-72 championship course. The Jones course is best described as a target course and, as is his fashion, Rees Jones has used all available attributes to guard his greens.

Sea Trail – Willard Byrd Course

The Willard Byrd Course was rated 4 STARS by Golf Digest in 2004, this course was also named 50 Best Courses in Myrtle Beach- 2005 and Top 100 Courses in North Carolina- 2006 by Golf Digest.

Each hole of the Willard Byrd Course is memorable for both beauty and exacting play. Built around several man-made lakes, each ranging from 14-20 acres, every hole of this par-72 signature course requires a distinctly different approach to Byrd's undulating greens. The course follows Byrd's imaginative style of design, incorporating several of his trademark decorative sand and waste bunkers. This combined with a constricting tree line and greenside bunkering system make for a “heads-up” challenge.

Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club

The Golf Magazine Readers Poll rated Shaftesbury Glen’s Greens as “The bent greens were the finest I have ever putted.”

Course Description

A truly unique concept, blending a world-class golf course with a superb fishing venue along the Waccamaw River. Shaftesbury Glen is now open and taking tee times. Architect Clyde Johnston brings the same traditional look to his 18-hole championship course – elevated greens, picture-perfect traps, wide-flowing fairways, demanding doglegs, tantalizing par 3's and long par 5's. From stone-gated entrance to Olde English clubhouse, all evokes the spirit of Shaftesbury, England – the project's namesake…just ten minutes from the heart of Restaurant Row, via the new Conway Bypass

Shaftesbury Glen has the same traditional look of the famed Winged Foot using the same design principles that A.W. Tillinghast did at the legendary course. Also built in the tradition of the typical British Isles courses with natural forest and the Waccamaw River. The course is receptive to both high and low handicappers. The greens are A-1 Bent and have grown in magnificently, and are lightning fast. The clubhouse is modeled after an old English manor house with pub and interior to match. Our fully stocked golf shop is equipped with the finest brand name apparel and accessories. Current vendors include Ping, Cutter & Buck, Nike, Ashworth, Gear, Haley, Antigua, EP Pro and Tail. We can service your need for fine quality golf merchandise. We carry Footjoy, Adidas and Nike golf shoes. Chldren's clothing lines include Camp David and Wee Golf.

In 2004, this spectacular blend of natural and man-made challenges was voted among the “Top 100 in America” by Golf for Women.

Course Description

SouthCreek is an Arnold Palmer gem that winds through a magnificent setting of coastal wetlands and hardwood forests. Most golfers find SouthCreek to be the “finess” course of the three courses at National. At just over 6400 yards from the back tees, SouthCreek requires less distance but greater accuracy. Numerous waste areas and well -protected bentgrass greens, place a premium on your course management and shot-making ability. SouthCreek provides it's own unique round of golf, distinctly different than the other Myrtle Beach National Courses.

The Heritage Club

The Heritage Club was honored by Golf Digest as #46 in the “Top 100 Public Courses in America- 2007-2008” and rated 4.5 STARS in “Places to Play.”

The Legends – Heathland Course

Golf Digest rated the Heathland course 4.5 STARS and Golf Magazine rated it in the “Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World.”

Course Description

The par 71 Heathland Course, designed by Tom Doak, is a return to the grand, “Old Country” traditions of the game. It has been distinctly molded in the image of the British Isles links courses, with holes reminiscent of familiar links like St. Andrews, and lesser known gems like Lahinch and Cruden Bay. Most of the holes are without high vegetation, providing a visual presentation like no other course in the area. The challenge and difficulty of this course comes primarily from the unobstructed breeze that wafts constantly over the course, and the strategically placed bunkers and lush, deep rough that closely border the fairways

Many of the greenside bunkers are deep and require creative shot making to escape. Rated one of the “Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World” by GOLF Magazine in 1990, Heathland's design allows players of all ability levels to “step back in time.”

The Legends – Moorland Course

The Moorland Course was crowned by Golf Digest as one of the “Top Five New Public Courses in America” and given 4.5 STARS in “Places to Play.”

Course Description

Considered one of the strongest challenges on the East Coast – a par 72 triumph – Moorland was designed by noted golf architect P. B. Dye and opened for play in 1990. Large expanses of natural growth, sand, water and waste areas combine with extraordinary undulations and bulkheaded areas to present a course reminiscent of the PGA West Stadium Course.

This controversial course is definitely a “target” golf course. Created in the Dye tradition, Moorland will cause golfers to rise to incredible heights on the sculpted terrain, sink to considerable depths in the bunkers, and constantly use every ounce of skill and luck in their possession. Moorland indeed earned its designation as one of the “Top 10 New Courses of 1990,” by Golf Digest. Play the 245 yard par-4 16th and see for yourself why the large bunker guarding the green is so appropriately named “Hell's Half Acre.”

The Legends – Parkland Course

The Parkland Course was rated by Golf Digest 4.5 STARS in “Places to Play.”

Course Description

With the opening of Parkland, The Legends trilogy is now complete. Taking its place alongside the award-winning Heathland and Moorland courses, Parkland is quickly establishing itself as the most exciting new course in Myrtle Beach. Offering distinct contrasts to the first two Legends courses, Parkland demonstrates the diversity and beauty of the natural terrain with contoured, tree-lined fairways, vast natural areas, deep-faced bunkers and massive, multi-level greens.

Opened for play in October 1992, Parkland is modeled after the style of architects Alister MacKenzie, (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club). Playing the unforgettably challenging fairway and green-side bunkering requires a deft touch off the tee and on the approach. From tee to green, strategy will be the order of the day on this stunning, par-72 playing field.

Tiger’s Eye Golf Links

In 2007, Golf Digest ranked Tiger’s Eye among their “Top 100 U.S. Public Courses.”

Course Description

The new $10 million Tiger's Eye completes the Big Cats trilogy with Tim Cate's newest creation that offers 18 unforgettable signature holes. It's unlike anything in Myrtle Beach. In fact, it was nominated by Golf Digest magazine as “Best New Golf Course In America.” This wild new cat will be tough to tame with 60-foot elevation changes. The undulating state-of-the-art Tifsport Bermuda grass fairways twist and turn up and down presenting you with a variety of lies along scenic water features. The large, notoriously slick G-2 bentgrass greens require a cautious putting game. Plus, there are 40 acres of wild flowers, lakes, a par-3 island and even a waterfall. Tiger's Eye is strictly top shelf. The 20,000 square foot clubhouse is the perfect place to lick your wounds or savor your victory.

Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach

TPC was awarded 5 STARS by Golf Digest, this is the only course in Myrtle Beach to receive such an honor.

Course Description

Sometimes the intrinsic value of a golf course is about more than strategic refinement and philosophical representations of playability and shot values. In other words, dare we say it, a golf course embodies more than just a test of golf. In some instances, a course appeases reticent instinctual requirements. It appeals to the senses, to our mandatory bonds with nature. So it is at the Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach, which weaves a marvelous challenge through a visually pleasing labyrinth of natural wonder. A craftsman with a penchant for building gorgeous golf holes, Tom Fazio predictably fashioned a national wetlands conservation area in the inland town of Murrells Inlet, SC, into a golf course that caresses our visceral pangs. But the TPC of Myrtle Beach is as challenging and strategically sound as any golf course you come across, thanks to the additional input from design associate Lanny Wadkins

The Tradition Golf Club was voted South Carolina’s “Golf Course of the Year” by the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owner’s Association for 2001, “Top Fairways” for 1998 by Golf for Women, and nominated “Best New Public Course” by Golf Digest in 1996. The Tradition Club continues to garnet rave reviews! Located adjacent to the Willbrook community in Litchfield Beach, the Tradition Golf Club brings to the lowcountry a championship course that boasts the proud traditions of the great courses that stood the test of time. Amenities abound at the Tradition, from comfortable dining-indoors and out-to our elaborate practice facility unequaled anywhere. Come experience the serenity of the game amid unsurpassed natural beauty.

Tradition Golf Club Myrtle Beach

The Tradition Golf Club was recently awarded 4.5 STARS by Golf Digest and selected “Golf Course of the Year” by the South Carolina’s Golf Course Owners Association for 2000.

Course Description

Opened early '98, True Blue skyrocketed to the top of every “Best New” award, being named the”Fourth Best New Public Upscale Course” in the country by Golf Digest, and as one of the “Top 10 New Courses In America” by The Golfer Magazine as well as being hailed as the “7th Best Course in South Carolina” and the #1 Course in Myrtle Beach by Golf Digest. Designed by America's most talked-about new architect, Mike Strantz, True Blue is very demanding yet, ruggedly beautiful.

Built upon the site of an old indigo and rice plantation, True Blue features uncommon natural elevations and naturally rugged terrain. The rough, sandy areas have been retained and provide striking contrast to the immaculate greens, tees and fairways. The elevations also make True Blue unique. On the Par 3, 14th, the tee box is nearly fifty feet above the green which is artfully placed between the perils of a huge waste area and a disastrous “pot” bunker. While hitting down to a green on a Par 3 in the Myrtle Beach area, is very unique, it is the raw beauty of this hole that sets it apart.
