Fourth of July in North Myrtle Beach

The Fourth of July is just around the corner and you certainly won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to spend this patriotic holiday at the beach! The Grand Strand showcases its best red, white, and blue during this holiday, which conveniently falls on a Friday this year, making it easy to enjoy an extended weekend or even an entire week of hard earned relaxation time. Pack up the family and head to Tilghman Resort where you can enjoy easy beach access, spacious rooms, and a location close to plenty of festive Fourth of July events. Here are just a few of the things that you can take advantage of during your trip to North Myrtle Beach:

All American Cuisine

What could be better than grabbing some all-American grub during your Fourth of July festivities? Lucky for you, there are plenty of places in the North Myrtle Beach area that serve up American classics that are sure to please your palette. Grab finger-licking bbq at succulent favorites like Damon’s Grill, Big KT’s BBQ Shack, or Smokin’ Hot BBQ. Craving a fat, juicy burger? Just head to local favorites like Hamburger Joe’s or River City café to cure your craving. Or, if you really aren’t in the mood to deal with weekend holiday traffic, head down to the Tilghman Pool Bar & Grill and nosh poolside! The menu here offers an array of classic fare, like hotdogs, burgers, baskets, and more, that are sure to please everyone in your group!

Fun in the Sun

Spend your day enjoying time with family and friends at the beach this Fourth of July weekend! After all, that is why you came to North Myrtle Beach, isn’t it? The white, sandy shores of the Atlantic are located just across from our property, meaning you only have to take a few steps to get your toes in the sand. Pack a picnic, beach toys, games, and your favorite book and make an entire day out of it! If you have already gotten your fill of sand and salt, just head out to Tilghman Resort’s expansive pool deck which includes a large outdoor pool, lazy river, a children’s splash area, and plenty of outdoor seating.

Boat Parade – Murrells Inlet

Looking for something different this year? Head south to the charming seaside town of Murrells Inlet to enjoy their annual floating boat parade! This parade begins at high tide, which is at 12 pm this year. Viewing spots are available along the popular MarshWalk venue, at Belin Methodist Church, or at the new JettyWalk area. Boats will start at the Garden City Point and then slowly meander through the inlet in boats that will be decked out in every shade of red, white, and blue. Stick around to enjoy local dining, shopping, and activities throughout the afternoon and then catch a spectacular fireworks show at Veteran’s Pier at 10pm that evening.

Fireworks

It wouldn’t be the 4th of July without a spectacular fireworks display, and guests at Tilghman Resort will find plenty of places along the Grand Strand to enjoy plenty of action. If you are out and about on the fourth, attractions hopping and souvenir shopping, check out the fireworks at popular venues like Barefoot Landing (10:15 over the lakes) or Broadway at the Beach (10pm over Lake Broadway). If you are checking out the downtown area, stick around for fireworks over the Atlantic at Second Avenue Pier at 10pm. Or, if you and your family are just exhausted after a day full of sun in the fun, check out fireworks from your balcony! Cherry Grove Pier puts on an excellent show each year over the ocean at 10pm and guests at our property have a front and center view!
