If you are lucky enough to grace the sandy shores of Cherry Grove Beach during the month of June you will most certainly be pleased with the amount of things to do during your trip – besides soaking up the sun that is. June is the kick-start month for many of North Myrtle Beach’s ongoing summer events in addition to offering several other exciting annual events. Music on Main – Ongoing
Can’t make it out on a weekend? No worries, just venture out to the “horseshoe” section of Main Street to enjoy free seaside open-air concerts! This is a weekly series that takes place each week on Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm. Visitors are encouraged to come enjoy all of the local shops and restaurants that the downtown area has or even just bring chairs and find a spot along the beach to take in the endless Atlantic vistas. This is the perfect way to relax after a busy day at the beach!
Movies at McLean – Ongoing
Gather up your crew and head up the road to McLean Park to enjoy a free movie under the stars! Perfect for relaxing after a long day full of bustling beach activity, the movies shown here each month are family friendly and appropriate for guests of all ages. Bring a blanket and chairs and grab your spot early – the movies will screen 15 minutes after sunset. Popcorn, drinks, and other movie snacks will be available for purchase via the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club.
Sounds of Summer Concert Series – Ongoing
You won’t have to venture far to enjoy family friendly fun! Head over to the brand new North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex, located just a stone’s throw from Tilghman Resort, to enjoy the Sounds of Summer Concert Series. Each month, the city will host live entertainment from popular local bands in the amphitheater from 7pm – 9pm. Guests are invited to bring blankets / chairs and come grab a bite to eat and take in the true sounds of summer! This event is completely free and there will be food and beverage vendors present with snacks for sale.
Restaurant Week at Castano’s – June 2nd – 8th
Restaurant week is June 2nd – 8th this year and North Myrtle Beach’s very own Castano’s Italian Steakhouse is proud to be a participant during the 2014 season! Located at Barefoot Landing, this family favorite is known for serving up classic Italian cuisine and some of the area’s best chops. For Restaurant Week, Castano’s will offer a chef select menu for just $35/person. The menu will include a Caprese Salad “Stack” or She Crab Soup, your choice of Encrusted Salmon, Petit Filet, or Stuffed Chicken Breasts – all served with decadent sides, and dessert options of either Walnut Bread Pudding or Lemoncello Cheesecake. American Pie Oldies Fest – Saturday, June 7th
What could be better than good food, good friends, and perhaps even a little good wine? You can enjoy all of these things, and more, at the American Pie Oldies Fest at La Belle Amie Vineyard. Located just up the road in Little River, this event will feature live entertainment from two local bands, The Party Favor Band and Shamalama, and fantastic food from Smokin’ Pitt BBQ and The Vineyard Grill. Guests can also enjoy a guided vineyard tour and are invited to bring a lawn chair and blankets and stick around for an afternoon full of fun! The event kicks off at noon and wraps up at 6pm.
