You know it’s freshly made barbecue when it’s smoked just outside of the restaurant, just like it is at Old South BBQ Company in North Myrtle Beach.
Diners at the restaurant can choose from a variety of meats chopped or pulled several different ways, country sides and sweet tea. There is also a large menu for those who don’t want to try the barbecue at Old South BBQ Company, like burgers, fries and more.
Starters include smoked chicken wings, as well as fried pickles and barbecue versions of quesadillas, nachos and spring rolls. Sides are made from scratch and many Old South customers claim this to be the best barbecue they’ve ever had. Kids’ meals with fries are $4.99. Ironically, desserts aren’t offered at the former ice cream stand, which looks like a 1960s-era Dairy Queen. Old South features pulled pork, baby back ribs, hot dogs and hamburgers pulled straight from the smoker.
Old South offers various to-go packages and also caters. The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Highly rated by several food websites, Old South has become known most for its wood-flavored chopped pork and its home-made sides, including hand-cut fries and tangy, pork-sprinkled barbecue beans.
At Old South Bar-B-Q they take pride in bringing you Good Food prepared with Traditional OLD Southern Recipes and they live up to their motto “It can’t be Rushed…Just Enjoyed!”
