A few weeks ago Allison Brehm took over the position of Homeowner Representative at Tilghman Beach and Golf Resort. We waited for her to get properly situated before sitting her down for the kooky Q&A session that comes with being the subject of an EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT blog post.
Here are some of the things we learned about her once we did:
Allison originally hails from Ohio but has spent her last 19 years as a resident of Horry County, South Carolina. Eighteen of those years were spent holding a position similar to Homeowner Rep with another company so her transition to Tilghman was relatively seamless. Her favorite things about life in the South are the lack of snow & being closer to her family. She can’t see herself living elsewhere but Chicago ranks high amongst her favorite vacation destinations.
When it comes time to celebrate Allison loves carrot cake with cream cheese frosting but please don’t look her way when the dishes need washing – that is her least favorite chore. Allison’s favorite time of year is that sweet spot between Thanksgiving and Christmas when Bob FM, the local radio station starts playing nothing but Christmas music. And just in case you felt like serenading her this season, the Mariah Carey classic “All I want for Christmas is you” is the song she enjoys the most. Also, Allison will never tire of watching the Jim Henson & David Bowie mash-up movie Labyrinth.
The motto “Can’t Never Could” is another one of Allison’s personal favorites which she has applied to many aspects of her life, but certainly not all. When directly asked, she revealed that she does not know how to drive stick. Her husband does, but they work better as a team rather than as teacher and student. This may apply only to her home life as she sites talking to people as her favorite way to learn and interpersonal skills as both her greatest strength and the mountain she will never stop climbing.
You may have some questions of your own to ask the newest member to the Tilghman team, so if you happen to see Allison smiling at you from behind the front desk feel free to introduce yourself & start asking away!
