Myrtle Beach doesn’t slow down just because the weather cools off. Especially as the area’s favorite attractions and shows transform into holiday mode. Both Legends in Concert and Alabama Theatre continue to welcome guests to their live musical performances featuring many beloved Christmas songs sung by your favorite artists! Or, come aboard and experience a unique twist to Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” in Buccaneer Bay at Pirates Voyage. Pirates Voyage also offers the only live nativity scene on the Grand Strand.
One of the area’s most visually beautiful events and local tradition is A Night of a Thousand Candles held at Brookgreen Gardens. It originally started with 1,000 hand lit candles and now hosts close to 6,000. The candles will be lit November 30, December 1,2, 7-9, and 14-17. You can walk the paths of the historic gardens while hearing carolers, bell choirs, and seeing the amazing displays set up including an 85 foot Fir Tree decorated with over 100,000 lights. Dinner is also available during the event, with a variety of low country fare including seafood, BBQ, chicken bog and vegetarian options.
Ripley’s Aquarium also joins in the holiday fun by hosting their annual Festival of Trees. Throughout the aquarium, trees will be on display and fully decorated to represent each of our country’s fifty states. The South Carolina tree is over 18 feet tall and features sea shells, magnolias, golf balls and college football ornaments.
