October is National Seafood Month and Little River, SC certainly knows how to celebrate! The 13th annual Little River ShrimpFest takes place October 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and October 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Historic Little River Waterfront (4460 Mineola Ave., Little River, SC 29566). Tucked amongst oak trees cloaked in Spanish moss along the picturesque waterfront, this tasty festival is a perfect way to spend a fall day chowing down on some of the best seafood from across the Grand Strand. With more than 150 vendors including food and arts and crafts, this event is the highlight of the fall season in this nearby fishing community.
Guests are invited to eat their way across the stretch of historic waterfront with a much wider selection of choices than the festival name alludes to. In addition to the huge shrimp and seafood feast, you’ll also find traditional fair food such as giant turkey legs, BBQ chicken right off the grill, funnel cakes, shaved ice and fresh squeezed lemonade.
The arts and crafts vendors and the entertainment will give you plenty to do between bites. You’ll find everything from handmade crafts for the upcoming Halloween season to Christmas décor and perfect treasures no beach house should be without. Fun for the whole family can be found festival wide, from the children’s area with face painting and balloon artists, to the two entertainment stages featuring live, local bands.
Be sure to add the Little River ShrimpFest to your October must-see list while visiting Tilghman Beach and Golf Resort! You can learn more about the event by visiting the event webpage at http://littlerivershrimpfest.org
